Winter in Sedona, AZ

February 4th, 2010

I just posted a gallery of pictures from my recent trip to Sedona Arizona. The red rocks there are amazing, especially under the winter snow. Sedona is beautiful and breath taking. The story goes that the red rock formations are energy vortex’s which channel the energy of the Earth into their visitors. Sedona’s Oak Creek canyon is also amazing as the desert floors transforms into the forest covered plateau to the north. My first trip to Sedona I camped alone in Oak Creek canyon under a full moon, and it was one of the best camping experiences of my life. If you are ever in Arizona, Sedona is one area not to miss.

Wildwood Park Lizard Rock 360° Panorama

February 3rd, 2010

I took my second official spherical panorama on top of Lizard Rock in Wildwood Park at sunset. It is a spectacular place to watch the sun set. I had some trouble with the exposure settings for this picture due to the fact that I had to run up the hill to get the picture, setup the tripod equipment, and take the picture in less than a minute or risk loose the sun for the day and ruin the shot. The next one will be perfect.

Payments will be accepted from all major credit cards and from Paypal. Sorry for the delay, and thank you for your patience.

Sandstone Peak 360° Panorama

January 23rd, 2010

The storm cleared up today in Los Angeles to a beautiful cold but sunny winter day. We hiked to the top of Sandstone Peak, the highest point in the Santa Monica mountains to take some 360º spherical pictures which have become my new favorite hobby and some HDR’s for the gallery.

Lots of hikers today. It’s always nice to see people out on the trails!

Soft Launch

January 16th, 2010

Well the day has come that the website is ready to go live. Please keep in mind that this is still a work in progress for the next few days as I iron out the kinks and put the finishing touches on the gallery and purchase pages. Have a look around and leave some feedback, I would love to know what you think!

Back-end Updates

January 12th, 2010

Over the last few weeks I have built the database that will hold all the photos and the back-end infrastructure to upload and manage the galleries for Big Beautiful Pictures! Things are coming along quickly and I should be ready to launch the website very soon.

It’s been quite some time since I have last attempted to do any sort of php programming from scratch. Probably close to three years. The challenge has been rewarding though. I’ve already done things for this website that I havn’t ever done, let alone in the last few years.

What’s more is that instead of relying on a pre-built website script that I would have to pick and choose features to use and to discard, this website is built from the ground up around my photography. This means a faster, easier, more beautiful experience for you.

I can not wait to launch to website and start sharing my photography with you. If you would like to stay up to date, add the Big Beautiful Pictures twitter account HDRpictures.
